Yangyang Shi, MD

Dr. Shi was born in Chengdu, China and raised in Northern California. He received his Bachelor’s Degrees from University of California Santa Barbara in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 3 years from the honors college. He then spent 2 year working at Stanford Medical School Department of Ear Nose and Throat where he published several manuscripts related to radiation oncology. He also spent 2 years starting and running a nonprofit that helped tutor low income children in the inner city that was featured in the Huffington Post and received funding from Google before continuing his education at the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. In medical school, Dr. Shi published more manuscripts and shadowed in radiation oncology which along with seeing family members diagnosed with cancer inspired him to pursue a career in Radiation Oncology.  He then went on to complete his Transitional Year internship at Crozer Chester Medical Center. 

Outside of work, Dr. Shi enjoys playing the guitar, running, taking walks on the beautiful U of Arizona campus and exploring the numerous restaurants in Tucson.
